The Panorama School Board approved extending Wednesday 1 p.m. dismissals through second term at their meeting Monday.

Superintendent Shawn Holloway says this gives instructors time to develop and manage content for online remote learners. The Board also approved this school year’s superintendent goals and priorities which include finance, curriculum and assessment, board communication, and District public relations. After a motion to require face masks failed to pass at a special Board meeting last week, Holloway says the District continues to recommend masks, and that the item will be on the Board’s agenda in November. Though Holloway says more students in the secondary building have begun wearing face coverings since the state changed its quarantine guidelines for those in contact with a positive case, “In the high school right now that’s really you probably see the greater change in those that are wearing masks versus not. Really that’s probably based on activities that they’re involved in.”

The Board also approved a School Budget Review Committee allowable growth request of about $370,920 for the fiscal year 2020 special education deficit.
