Monday is National Indigenous Peoples’ Day and some offices and businesses will be closed in Jefferson.

The Jefferson City Hall, the Jefferson Public Library and the Jefferson Post Office will be closed in observance of the holiday. Library staff reminds patrons that nothing is due to the library when it is closed for a holiday. Due to the holiday on Monday, garbage routes in Jefferson will be delayed by one day. Monday’s routes will be picked up on Tuesday. Then Tuesday’s routes will be collected on Wednesday, and Wednesday’s routes will be done on Thursday. Garbage routes will then go back to normal schedules the following week.
