The non-profit gaming license holder for Wild Rose Casino and Resort in Jefferson is now accepting grant applications.
Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation recently gave away over $1 million in adjusted gross revenues from the casino to community projects, municipalities, school districts, contiguous counties and other non-profit organizations earlier this year. Due to the casino being closed for ten weeks because of COVID-19, GGCGC President Norm Fandel says their adjusted gross revenue will be down by 25-percent, however, he encourages organizations to apply for their competitive grants.
Despite the decrease in the amount of funds, Grow Greene County will continue to receive five-percent of the adjusted gross revenue from the casino. Of that total, 4.1-percent goes towards Greene County projects, and the 0.9-percent is split equally between the six contiguous counties around Greene County.
Competitive grant applications are now being accepted until February 10, 2021. Grant applications must be $35,000 and more to be considered. You can click the link below to apply or email them at growgreenecounty@gmail.com. Grants will be awarded in the spring of 2021.
