Dallas County has one new COVID-19 related death as positive cases rise in Perry and Adel.
According to the Dallas County Dashboard as of Wednesday, the 50220 zip code, which includes Perry, has 31 active COVID-19 cases. The 50003 zip code, which includes the Adel area, currently has 24 active cases, more than double of this time last week. As a whole, Dallas County has 524 active cases and one new death since Tuesday increasing the total to 40 deaths.
Dallas County Public Health Community Health Administrator Abigail Chihak tells Raccoon Valley Radio the new Dallas County Dashboard does offer more information than just statistics, “We also have a whole list of mental health resources on there. We know that during prolonged times of crisis, those resources are very helpful because we all need someone we can reach out to. We’re never alone in this situation.”
The new dashboard shows how many cases have been confirmed in the last 14 days. This is to provide some insights into how many active cases there are within each community. The site also includes information on what symptoms to look out for, mitigation and sanitation recommendations, and various resources ranging from childcare availability to financial assistance for small businesses. You can find the new dashboard here.
