The City of Stuart is almost finished forming their comprehensive plan for the next 10-20 years, but they could use the public’s input before crossing the t’s and dotting the i’s.
The Stuart City Council has been working with Region XII Council of Governments for around a year to develop the new plan that will influence the City’s growth and development over the next couple decades. A draft has now been released online for the public to view and submit any feedback before it goes to the Council for approval in November. Region XII Regional Planner Freddy Vasquez mentions one of the key components to the plan, “A good comprehensive plan is one that really adheres and sticks to the implementation plan part of it. You know a type of comprehensive plan that kind of just sits on the shelf really does no good for anyone. So if the City sticks to the implementation plan that we kind of developed with the citizen input, I think that will be one of the keys of the entire plan.”
Stuart residents have until the end of the month to read the unofficial plan and provide feedback. A link to the document is included here.
