Transportation precautions are being taken to prevent further spread of COVID-19 on the buses with the Greene County School District.

Transportation Assistant Director Shawn DeMoss talks about how they are seating students on the buses due to the impact of COVID-19.

“Our route buses are trying to keep family groups together, and we’ve done assigned seating on the other buses to allow accountability of who is sitting where. Which is critical as far as the 15-feet radius, so if we do have an outbreak or a problem, we can pick out that. Plus we have cameras on every bus, which will allow us to go back and see what has happened and who those people might have been in contact with.”

DeMoss points out that they didn’t have to add more routes because they felt that by having assigned seating and keeping kids from the same household together, the District could manage the same number of bus routes. He adds that after each trip of picking up and dropping off students, the buses are being cleaned with disinfectants.
