A possible 28E agreement to share county attorney services with Audubon County was discussed at the recent Guthrie County Board of Supervisors meeting.

County Attorney Brenna Bird informed the Supervisors that since the Audubon County Attorney resigned, she and Assistant Guthrie County Attorney John Twillmann have stepped in to temporarily provide county legal counsel. Bird said that the Audubon County Supervisors are seeking applications for a new attorney, but they haven’t received many applicants so far. Though hiring a new individual is their first choice, Bird said she was asked to propose the idea of a 28E agreement to the Guthrie County Supervisors. A benefit to the counties would be shared expenses such as health benefits and cell phone bills. The Supervisors agreed to explore forming an agreement while Audubon County continues its hiring process.
