A straight set Heart of Iowa Activities Conference volleyball loss in State Center to West Marshall on Tuesday night dropped Greene County to 0-4 in conference play and 4-10 overall. The Trojans improved to 10-17. Scores were 19-25, 21-25, 19-25.

Greene County head coach Chris Heisterkamp said she saw good things from the Rams, but the team wasn’t able to pull out any set victories.

Seniors Lily Muir and Brianna Osterson each had eight kills, and the team had 24 kills in the three sets. Muir also had 10 digs, two blocks and two assists. Osterson had 11 digs with 12 digs for sophomore Natalie Heupel and 11 for sophomore Katrina Heupel. Senior Eliza Carlson had seven digs. Setter Natalie Heupel had 14 assists.

From the service line, the Rams were 55 of 61 with five ace serves. Osterson was 11 for 12 with two aces, and sophomore Emma Hoyle went 12 of 14 with two aces. Natalie Heupel was 10 for 11 with an ace, while Muir was nine for 10, Carlson seven for seven, and Katrina Heupel six for seven.

The Rams play at home for the first time this season tomorrow at 5 p.m. in the brand new Greene County High School gym. It’s a non-conference triangular with Southeast Valley (Cowrie) and Ogden. Fans should park in the south parking lot and enter through the south entrance. The north doors to the HS will be locked.
