The City of Perry will be starting their yard waste pickup service this week.
Residential curbside pickup will begin Wednesday for homes north of Willis Avenue. On Wednesday, October 7th, crews will pick up yard debris on the southside of Willis and alternate each week until December 9th. There will be no pickup during the weeks of Veterans Day and Thanksgiving. Leaves and mulched brush are asked to be placed near the curb in the front of the residence in paper bags with a maximum weight of forty pounds. All tree, bush, and brush materials can be bundled together in maximum lengths of four feet. City officials encourage residents to use this service instead of open burning.
Open burning is allowed from this Friday through Sunday, November 22nd from 10 a.m. to dusk. The property owner must supervise all burning, and the fire cannot be within 30 feet of any structure.
