Greene County Activities Director Todd Gordon told Raccoon Valley Radio there has been an online accusation of covering up one or more positive COVID-19 cases on the football team. Gordon said that is not the case. Positive tests have been confirmed on the middle school and elementary school levels, but as of this writing, not at Greene County High School.
“You either play by the rules in every area of your life, or you don’t. We will treat this the same way. Ultimately, it’s not about playing a football game. It’s about keeping people safe. We’re not going to jeopardize anybody’s safety, whether it’s on our team, or our opponents’ team, our opponents’ community, or our community. We’ll do what we’re supposed to do, and we’ll do that every single time!”
On Thursday, Sept. 24, Greene County cancelled all scheduled middle school activities upon finding one or more new positive tests among occupants of that building. Raccoon Valley Radio will provide updates once they become official.
