The Perry Farmers Market ended their 2020 season on a high note.

Perry Chamber of Commerce Director Lynsi Pasutti tells Raccoon Valley Radio there was a great turnout at Thursday’s market, which was the last of the year, “It was fantastic, weather-wise. That always brings out a lot of traffic as well, as just knowing it was the last market. So for folks that forgot about it or didn’t make it a habit to come down every week, that really got them going, to get down to make sure they stocked up and use up their WIC and senior vouchers as well as the double-up food bucks. We had a really beautiful day, so we had a lot of shoppers.”

Pasutti adds that they’re hoping to be able to have seasonal markets between now and next spring. Some other positive news that coming to next year’s farmer’s markets is the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits will be accepted for the first time.
