Sunny skies and 80 degrees were the running conditions Thursday in Story City at the River Bend Golf Course for the Roland-Story Norsemen Invitational coed cross-country meet. The Greene County boys were fourth among 12 teams while girls results were incomplete and some of the runners for the Rams did not have their times recorded.

Coach Jeff Lamoureux reports Luis Velazco ran, but was bothered by a back problem and did not have his usual performance. Normally, among the Rams’ top two finishers, he ran, but did not figure in the team score.

Logan Woodruff was tenth in 18:17 for the five kilometers (3.1 miles) to lead Greene County.  Jayden Carstensen was 22nd in 19:12, Dakota Mobley 23rd in 19:13, Ethan Frederick 26th in 19:24, and Ethan Larsen 46th in 20:26.

Madrid won the boys’ race with 25 points with 89 for Ogden, 99 by Bondurant-Farrar, and 127 for Greene County. Kuemper Catholic (Catholic) had 135 with South Hamilton (Jewell) 144, Southeast Valley (Cowrie) 165, R-S 186, West Marshall (State Center) 254, Saydel (Des Moines) 288, Woodward Academy 306, and 307 for Woodward-Granger.
