The Dallas County Board of Supervisors heard a court spacing proposal during their meeting Tuesday.

The Supervisors heard more than half a dozen ideas to convert the former Dallas County Jail into additional court spacing. After a lengthy discussion, the Supervisors said they needed to know more about the County’s needs for court spacing in the near and distant future before conversations can continue.

The Supervisors also approved the abatement of $25,174 worth of property taxes for a property owned by Perry Economic Development. The building qualifies for tax exemptions, but the application to do so was not filled out in time. The Supervisors approved the purchase for a $6,250 enclosed trailer from I-80 Trailers of De Soto to transport the County’s new portable traffic lights.
