Friday, September 18th

1:12am: An officer located and secured an Open Business Door at 600 East Lincoln Way Street.

1:15am: An officer was requested at the Super 8 Motel, located at 207 West Gallop Road, for a reported Domestic Argument occurring there. The officer arrived and spoke to a female and learned she had been involved in a Verbal Argument with a male, who had left the area before the officer arrived. A special needs infant was also present in the room with the female. The officer had some concerns of well being for the infant and contacted DHS with the issues.

12:02pm: The Greene County Elementary School advised of a Stray Dog at 401 East Russell Street. The officer was unable to immediately respond to this call. A subject caught the animal in her fenced yard and advised she would contact the animal’s owner.

2:00pm: Officers assisted the Department of Human Services in executing a Child Removal Order at 1000 West Adams Street #34. A 5-month-old child was temporarily removed from its mother’s care and placed in Foster Care.

3:53pm: Jim Kurth reported kids riding a go kart and dirt bikes on the street in the 700 Block of Rushview Drive. The officer spoke to the kids and parents about not riding on the streets.

5:34pm: Officers were called to 104 East Monroe Street for a Civil Vehicle Issue.

6:59pm: Jason Smits advised of debris in the road in the 1800 Block of North Elm Street. The officer removed the object from the street.

7:46pm: Connie Ross advised her juvenile son had left 615 South Olive Street after an argument. He was not supposed to leave the residence. While looking for the juvenile, the officer was advised at 8:12pm the juvenile had returned on his own.

8:42pm: A caller advised of a group of teens throwing toilet paper at Kelso Park. The officer responded but did not locate anyone in the area.

10:30pm: Spencer Burley reported his vehicle had toilet paper placed on it at 400 West State Street. The officer responded and found no damage to the vehicle.

Saturday, September 19th

1:10am: Kevin Whitver reported several kids rang his doorbell and ran from the area of the 600 Block of South Olive Street. The officer checked the area but did not locate anyone.

3:13am: Pat Peterson reported a strange red light in a yard in the 400 Block of East Washington Street. The officer located the source of the red light as a Halloween Decoration and reported his findings back to Peterson.

1:06pm: An officer took a report of Harassment from Amber Daniel. The officer is investigating the report.

1:49pm: Fareway reported a Shoplifting at 1207 North Elm Street. A male subject had taken a product from its packaging and placed it in his pocket. He paid for other items and left the business. The officer is investigating.

5:00pm: A Greene County School Bus Driver gave an officer a School Bus Violation Form. The reported violation had occurred at about 1553 hours, at South West and West Lincoln Way Street. The officer is investigating.

5:26pm: A caller advised they had caught a dog with a leash in the 100 Block of West Vest Street. The officer placed the small dog in the Animal Holding Facility.

5:55pm: An officer was advised of a Wanted Female who was currently at 777 Wild Rose Lane. The officer made contact with the female and waited for Confirmation on the warrant. Story County refused to accept the female for the outstanding Story County Arrest Warrant. The officer took no action and advised her to turn herself in in Story County.

9:27pm: Craig Johnson spoke to an officer with questions about a Civil Eviction Process.

10:04pm: A caller advised of an Open Garage Door at 605 West Monroe Street and found it suspicious at this time of night. The officer checked on the property and found all to be fine.

Sunday, September 20th

12:33pm: Luke Winkelman reported a vehicle in the ditch on 230th Street, near M Ave. The officer learned the subject had swerved to miss a deer and went into the ditch overnight. Arrangements had been made to remove the vehicle.

2:51pm: Mike Larson reported catching a Stray Dog in his fenced yard at 619 South Locust Street. The officer placed the dog in the Animal Holding Facility.

5:36pm: Dollar General reported a Stray Dog in the business at 104 North Locust Street. The officer placed the dog in the Animal Holding Facility.

6:16pm: HyVee reported a Stray Dog in the parking lot at 106 West Washington Street. The officer located the animal and the owner and learned it had jumped out of the bed of his truck while he was shopping. He was given a Verbal Warning from the officer.

6:55pm: Bill Blanchard reported he and his elderly mother had been assaulted at 306 West Washington Street. The officer arrived and learned that a former roommate had arrived to pick up his property. This led to an argument between Blanchard and the male. The male assaulted Blanchard and knocked him to the ground. The subject straddled Blanchard and continued to strike him in the face, causing severe injuries. The subject had also pushed an Elderly female to the ground before leaving the residence. The officer and deputy searched for the male but did not locate him. The officer has requested Arrest Warrants for Nathaniel Clark Aldrich, 32 of Jefferson for, “Willful Injury – C Felony, Domestic Abuse Assault Causing Serious Injury – Serious, and Domestic Abuse Assault – Simple.”

7:16pm: Amy McGinn reported witnessing a young male pull a newly planted tree from the ground at the Jefferson Municipal Swimming Pool. The male took the tree into the park after pulling it from the ground near the off-street parking. It was reported the juvenile had gone to 402 West Russell Street after the event was over. The officer made contact with the male juvenile at the address and called and spoke to his parent by phone. Juvenile Charges and Restitution are pending at this time.

10:10pm: Mae Davis reported a Suspicious Vehicle parked in the 600 Block of West Reed Street. The officer contacted the owner and the vehicle was removed.

Monday, September 21st

6:15am: Autumn Lawton reported a Suspicious Male who appeared to be trying to get into a parked vehicle in the 1100 Block of North Elm Street. The officer located a vehicle that was for sale parked in the area, but no one was around the area. The vehicle did not have any damage.

10:47am: Jonathan Smith reported an Abandoned Bicycle at 409 North Chestnut Street. The officer placed the bike in the Impound Lot.

11:02am: Kelsey Reed reported a raccoon in the yard at 409 North Maple Street. The raccoon did not appear to be sick and the officer took no action.

5:07pm: An officer responded to a Fire Alarm Activation at 1000 West Washington Street. After a walk through the building, no fire was located.

6:14pm: Mark Hurley reported a raccoon, which appeared to have been hit by a vehicle. The officer removed the animal from the city.

6:54pm: Mark Olson reported his juvenile daughter was assaulted in the 700 Block of West State Street on 09/17/2020, while throwing toilet paper in the area. The officer is investigating the reported event.

9:52pm: Brandon Irlbeck spoke to an officer about a Civil Child Custody Issue.

11:32pm: A caller advised of a Car Alarm sounding near Lincoln Way and High Streets. The officer checked the area but did not locate the reported alarm sounding.

11:55pm: An officer located and secured an Open Door at 600 East Lincoln Way Street.
