The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors opened bids for a Hungry Canyons Alliance project and awarded a contract for an aluminum box culvert project at their meeting Tuesday.

Three contractors submitted bids for a project to replace a bridge on Grant Avenue and install two weirs, or low head dams, with one at the bridge and one about a quarter of a mile upstream. Cunningham-Reis LLC., Herberger Construction Company, and Murphy Heavy Contracting Corporation each submitted two separate bids for the bridge and the weirs, and the Board is anticipated to award the contract next week. The late start date for the project is July 2021, with the bridge being funded from tax increment financing, and 80% of the weirs funded by Hungry Canyons. The Board then awarded the contract for an aluminum box culvert project to the lowest bid of $65,051 from Benner Tiling and Dozing. County Engineer Josh Sebern also updated the Board on work the Secondary Roads Department is performing on Sage Trail near Lake Panorama, with no road closures planned.
