The Guthrie Center City Council approved the verbiage for the new municipal pool bathhouse and public restroom building at their meeting Monday.

City Administrator Laura Wolfe tells Raccoon Valley Radio the signage on the building will read “Guthrie Center Aquatic Complex.” Wolfe mentions construction is expected to begin on the structure this week from Accurate Commercial LLC, which the Council approved their bid of $652,130 last April. In other business, the Council tabled action regarding trees at the residence at 305 Grand Street, approved renewing their liability insurance from Employers Mutual Casualty Company with a $1,000 deductible, and approved the annual urban renewal report. Finally, the Council approved setting the public hearing date for a fiscal year 2021 budget amendment for October 12th, approved a resolution to request reimbursement from the Iowa COVID-19 Government Relief Fund, and tabled action on a resolution authorizing an economic development loan for Advanced Homes 360 pending the Utility Board’s meeting Wednesday night.
