The public is being notified of an individual who attended the Guthrie County Fair that has tested positive for COVID-19.
ISU Extension and Outreach Regional Director Rich Wrage states that the Guthrie County Extension Council was notified Monday that an individual who attended the 4-H goat show and weigh-in on Saturday, September 5th and at the horse show on Monday, September 7th had tested positive. The individual reported no symptoms when at those shows. Out of an abundance of caution, Wrage and the Guthrie County Extension Council are contacting 4-H youth exhibitors and their families so that they can monitor their health and consult current Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and public health guidance. Any Extension staff who may have had contact with the individual are now self-isolating for 14 days. 4-H goat and horse show attendees who have questions about possible exposure may contact public health, their healthcare provider, or Extension Council Chairperson Chad Sheley. According to Guthrie County Public Health, as of Wednesday afternoon the county has an 8.4% 14-day average positivity rate, with 205 confirmed cases and five deaths.
