An unspecified number of students and staff at the Greene County Elementary and Middle schools have tested positive for COVID-19.
According to an announcement released by the District, both buildings have been in contact with Greene County Public Health and contact tracing of those that may be exposed to those individuals that tested positive for the virus have been completed. Parents and guardians of the children that have been possibly exposed will be/have been contacted.
Due to privacy of those that have tested positive, or possibly been exposed, no further information will be provided. According to the mask requirement matrix previously approved by the School Board and having multiple positive cases in both the elementary and middle schools have been moved to “red.” This means masks are required to be worn by everyone until further notice. The District will allow those students who decide not to wear a mask to do remote learning at this time. The District encourages everyone to take necessary precautions to prevent the further spread of the virus.
