The Panorama football team had a tall task in their district opener Friday night.
The Panthers opened their gates to Class 1A power Van Meter who come in with 46 consecutive regular season wins. Both teams played great defensive football in the first as neither team was able to put anything on the scoreboard in the first 12 minutes. The wheels started to fall off the bus for Panorama in the second, as they gave up a safety on a bad snap, fumbled the ensuing kick-off, and threw an interception on their next drive, all within five minutes. Van Meter took advantage and scored 22 points before halftime. The Bulldogs would add one more score in the fourth to earn their third win of the season 30-0.
Panorama gets back to work today and will have a chance to get back on track Friday as they take on undefeated Woodward-Granger.
