For the first time, the public will get a first-hand look at the new Dallas County Law Enforcement Center.

The $23 million facility is now home to the administration, patrol, and civil divisions within the Sheriff’s Office. The building also houses the county jail, which is expected to be ready for inmates by the end of the month. The DCSO is offering public tours 2-8 p.m. today. The Dallas County Supervisors wanted to have a part in celebrating the facility that’s been a high priority project for nearly a decade. The Supervisors will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1:30 p.m. Sheriff Leonard is asking those wanting a tour to bring a face covering.

The new facility is located along Highway 6, just east of R Avenue in Adel. The Raccoon Valley Radio Big Red Radio will be broadcasting live from 2-5 p.m. from the event.
