The City of Perry continues to clean up following August 10th’s derecho storm.
Perry City Administrator Sven Peterson tells Raccoon Valley Radio crews are completing their curbside pickup this week, and next they’ll turn their focus to clearing the drop off sites, “We’re going to start cutting off that curbside pickup. We’ve done two full trips through town, and this is our third and final pickup for people who have called in tree piles. After this week, that expectation that’ll be hauled to the dumpsite will be out there. The expectation that the City has, and that homeowners should have is that if you’re hiring a tree contractor that they should be hauling that tree debris for you.”
The City asks residents to drop off tree brush at the dog park as the site located at Pattee Park is full. Only dumping of tree brush is allowed at this location. The City has found fences, lawnmowers, and other prohibited items. Those who don’t comply will be subject to fines for littering and illegal dumping.
