The Greene County Medical Center Board of Trustees recently completed its certification training.

The medical center was one of six hospitals in Iowa with the entire Board of Trustees to earn the Iowa Hospital Association’s Trustee Education Certification program. TEC is a voluntary program that focuses on strengthening leadership and accountability. It provides guidance to the Board to ensure excellence, innovation and accountability in governing health care. Board members who completed the training include Chair Jim Schleisman, David Hoyt, Doug Hawn, Bill Raney, Ralph Riedesel and Kim Bates. Board member Katherine Neese, who joined the board in early 2020 was not active at the time of certification.

The certification was held electronically last month, due to COVID-19 concerns. The Board was recognized as a three-star hospital for having 100-percent of its Board certified.
