The former Grand Junction Fire Chief that was charged with driving an ambulance while intoxicated was recently sentenced in Greene County District Court.

According to court documents, 40-year-old Thomas Launderville pled guilty to his second offense for an OWI. He had all but 18 days of his 180 Greene County Jail sentence suspended and given credit for time already served. He was also placed on one year of probation with the Boone and Greene County Probation Services.

The charge stemmed from an incident on November 9, 2019. Launderville was responding to a medical call in Grand Junction and drove the rescue ambulance. Following the call, Launderville did a breath test and his blood-alcohol level was .21-percent. Launderville was terminated from the fire department shortly after.
