A local real estate company is closing its doors after being a part of the Perry community for more than two decades.

Owner of Nevitt Real Estate Bob Nevitt announced his retirement earlier this week. Nevitt added this also means the end of the Nevitt Real Estate era as they plan on selling their building. Nevitt tells Raccoon Valley Radio it’s been a privilege to serve the Perry community, “It’s been very hard for me to make this decision, but it’s time. I know (my wife) Barb is looking down on me right now saying, ‘It’s time, Bob. You’re 70-years-old, you need to enjoy life. I think I take away from the fulfillment of the community and how they’ve treated not only Barb and I, not only when she was still here, but also after she was gone and that’s been very special to me, the people in this community; and how they’ve stood behind us. It’s been a great run of 20 years, I’m excited about retirement.”

Nevitt Real Estate has provided real estate services since opening their location in downtown Perry in 1979.
