labor-day

Dallas County Public Health encourages those celebrating Labor Day this weekend to keep the threat of COVID-19 in mind.

As COVID-19 cases continue to rise in Dallas County, those at DCPH want to remind residents to follow social distancing guidelines. DCPH Public Information Officer Ann Cochran says just because it’s a holiday weekend or you might be outside, there still is a risk, “There’s sure been an uptick in people using the bike trail and the parks, which is wonderful. One of the things that we continue to caution in people is you need to think of anyone who is not right in your household as someone who potentially could spread the virus to you.”

Other precautions Cochran recommends are constantly washing your hands, staying six-feet apart from others, and if you’re feeling sick or have possibly been exposed to the virus to stay home.
