Various beef shows, dog trials, antique tractor demonstrations and more will be happening at the Guthrie County Fair tomorrow.
Cass Pioneers 4-H Club President Carley Van Gundy is showing a breeding heifer this year, and she shares how the show-and-go style of exhibitions will contrast from typical years, “I definitely think it will be different, I just hope that all the livestock gets used to the fair, because I know that three days that they’re there really helps them get used to the fair like on a normal year. But I think it will be nice for the people, especially with cows, because all they have to do this year is take them down there, fit them and go. You don’t have to stay down there those three days and put a lot of work into it, I guess.”
Van Gundy adds that she especially enjoys spending the entire weekend at the fair, though it may be different with the COVID-19 pandemic. Sunday’s fair schedule also includes a drive-in church service at 9:30 a.m. by the Event Center, presentation of the JR Hodges Award at 1 p.m., a bags tournament at 1:30 p.m., and free grandstand entertainment.
