wcv-10

The West Central Valley Wildcats volleyball team played their first home game of the season in front of a big crowd in Stuart, but lost a thriller in five sets to the Earlham Cardinals by the score of 25-21, 21-25, 16-25, 28-26, 15-9. The first two sets were very similar for both teams, with both going back and forth with Earlham taking the first one and WCV completing the second one for a victory.

The third set, the Wildcats were able to play some of their best volleyball of the night, as they relied on multiple players for big kills while also getting excellent defense in the set. In the fourth, it was the good exciting of the night with both teams exchanging some terrific rallies, but Earlham was eventually able to take the set. They rode that momentum into the fifth set to take the match, and unfortunately the Wildcats were unable to pick up their first win of the season.

The Wildcats will get a couple of days of practice and then get go to an important tournament on Saturday in Clarinda, as they will be on the hunt for their first win of the season.
