Tuesday, September 1st
12:06am: An officer located and secured an Open Door at 1000 North Cedar Street.
12:31am: An officer located an Open Door on a storage unit at 1503 North Elm Street. The officer did not locate anyone in the area and closed the unit.
4:28am: Brad Riesenberg reported Suspicious Subjects near construction equipment at the new high school. The officer located several employees present watering new plants at the school.
9:59am: Deb Beddow reported someone burning near 207 West Russell Street and complained of the smell coming into her home. The officer located a resident burning leaves in a burn barrel in the area. The current Burn Ban does not prohibit the burning of yard waste in a barrel, etc. No violation had occurred.
3:13pm: Jefferson officers and Jefferson Fire assisted the GC Ambulance and Medical Examiner with a Death Scene in the 600 Block of South Wilson Avenue.
6:00pm: Rebecca Blanchard spoke to an officer in connection to a Civil Landlord/Tennent Issue occurring at 306 West Washington Street.
7:05pm: A deputy requested assistance from a Jefferson officer in locating the registered owner of an Abandoned Vehicle in Churdan. The officer was able to locate the owner and have him contact the deputy.
8:31pm: Dollar General requested an officer at 104 North Locust Street. The clerk had located a baggy of white crystalline substance on the floor near the checkout counter. The officer seized the item as it was consistent with methamphetamine. The store management will attempt to locate who dropped the item by watching video surveillance video of the store. The investigation continues.
10:07pm: Craig Johnson requested an officer at 203 North Oak Street to remove an Unwanted Female from the residence. The officer arrived and learned the female lives at the residence with Johnson. Both parties were highly intoxicated and arguing. The officer explained Johnson would have to evict the female and the officer could not force anyone to leave. The female made claims of past physical assaults but refused to cooperate further with the officer. The female grabbed some property and left the area. No action could be taken by the officer.
