The Dallas County Board of Supervisors heard the latest update on secondary roads during their regular meeting Tuesday.

County Engineer Al Miller informed the Supervisors that the Secondary Roads Department has resurfaced 60.5 miles of roads, completed 4.5 miles of ditch work, and replaced 33 culverts over the summer. The Supervisors also approved a contract to widen and install subdrainage on County Road R16 just north of Dallas Center. The project will cost $781,687, and Miller says it should take around 25 working days to complete. The Supervisors then approved a project to install a new flag pole on the Dallas County Courthouse’s northwest corner.
