The high school volleyball season starts this Saturday for Paton-Churdan’s Rockets and first year head coach Tressa Rasmussen. The 2015 Greene County High School graduate is in her second year teaching at P-C, but it’s her first heading the volleyball program.

Rasmussen gives an idea of what the season might  be like. “We have a pretty decent amount of seniors out this year- we have five seniors. Then, we have a pretty strong junior class. They’ve all been working pretty hard the last couple weeks of practice, and I think we’re all ready to get a game in here pretty soon.”

The Rockets will have to wait a few more days as they won’t play until this Saturday, Sept. 5 at the Coon Rapids-Bayard tournament in Coon Rapids.

Senior Danielle Hoyle, at 6′ 3″ is one of the taller players in the area. Quite a few other Rockets may not have Hoyle’s size, but have played quite a bit of varsity volleyball for P-C.
