Monday, August 31st

1:01am: An officer saw two vehicles stopped in the travelled portion of South Elm Street, near Edgewood. The officer approached the drivers and spoke to them. The officer’s investigation led to Eric William Crystal of Jefferson being cited for, “Allowing Unauthorized Person to Operate a Motor Vehicle.” The officer also cited Elizabeth Ann Zieman of Des Moines for, “Driving While Suspended and Stopping on Travelled Portion of Highway.”

2:29am: A Traffic Stop in the 200 Block of South Oak Street resulted in Samantha Nicole Peel of Jefferson being cited for, “Driving While Suspended and Excessive Speed.”

2:30pm: William Blanchard reported the Theft of a lock box containing prescription medications from 306 West Washington Street. The officer was given a list of suspects from Blanchard and is investigating.

3:05pm: An officer performed a Traffic Stop in the 200 Block of North Wilson Avenue with a vehicle that was missing the front registration plate. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Marlene Eleanor Anderson, 50 of Jefferson for, “Driving While Barred – Aggravated.” She was also cited for, “Fail to Maintain Registration Plate.”

5:18pm: A caller advised of a dog running loose near Daubendiek Park on West Russell Street. The officer located a subject unloading brush at the dumpsite. The subject advised the animal was with him and placed it in his vehicle.

6:40pm: An officer checked on a Residential Alarm Activation at 400 West State Street. All was fine at the residence and they advised the officer a child had set of the alarm by accident.

8:44pm: Troy Jordan reported a Careless Driver on 220th Street on 220th Street approaching Jefferson from the west. The officer did not locate the reported vehicle.

10:23pm: Jade Milledge reported receiving Threatening Text Messages from her mother. The officer contacted the mother on her behalf and advised her to end all contact with her adult daughter.
