An Adel Elementary School student and District staff member have tested positive for COVID-19.
The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District released an update Monday, stating one Adel Elementary student tested positive along with a non-teaching staff member. After contact tracing, it was determined that no other quarantines are necessary. The student has not attended on-site learning this year, and the staff member has not had any close contact with other individuals that warrants a quarantine. So far, six students have tested positive, triggering the quarantine of another 23 students. This was the first report of a staff member testing positive.
The District will not be making health recommendations related to quarantine but confirmed those who tested positive, and those identified through contact tracing will not be allowed to attend school or participate in school functions until they are cleared. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
