Governor Kim Reynolds visited Dallas County Monday to get a first-hand look at some of the areas most affected by the recent derecho storm.
Reynolds visited with several Dallas County officials including Supervisor Mark Hanson, Sheriff Chad Leonard, and Emergency Management Coordinator AJ Seely at Woodward Academy. According to Seely, Woodward received some of the most severe damage from the storm that came through the County August 10th. Following the meeting, Hanson reflects on what he took away from the meeting, “Aj Seely has done a wonderful job with gathering information and numbers as it relates to damage to buildings, and homes, and commercial, and crop damage. I’m not going to say there were any new revelations that came out of it, but I was really with Aj and the accolades that Woodward, as a community, gave to how they came together to clean up with their circumstances.”
There are still opportunities for those affected by the damage to apply for disaster relief.
