About 110 people attended the Greene County Republican Party Fall Fundraiser at the Grand Junction Community Center Friday night.

A long list of speakers addressed the crowd, including Governor Kim Reynolds, Iowa’s Fourth Congressional District candidate Randy Feenstra, Iowa House District 47 Representative incumbent Phil Thompson, and Iowa Senate District 24 candidate Jesse Green. Other speakers included retiring Iowa Senator Jerry Behn, Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams, the Republican National Committeewoman for Iowa Tamara Scott, the Republican National Committeeman for Iowa Steve Scheffler, and Greene County Republican Party Co-Chair Roger Olhausen.

Following the event, Olhausen gave his reaction of how he thought the night went.

“I was very pleased with the turnout and we had a great crowd, and the great participation, and great candidates. The governor being here, and Randy Feenstra being here which we hadn’t heard from before, and Jesse Green was kind of new in our area (and) Phil Thompson. Great speakers plus some other people that talked and I was just extremely happy just because we have such enthusiasm going this year and supporting our president.”

Feenstra described his impression of what Republican Greene County residents were like.

“What a great time to be in Greene County tonight. So many Republicans and just engaged in the party and want to make a difference when it comes to November 3rd at the election. That’s just exciting to see, people doing their civic duty to get out and vote and being energized.”

This was the annual fundraiser for the Greene County Republican Party.
