Several organizations that help feed residents in the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area received Food Storage Capacity grants.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources awarded $204,034 to 35 recipients. The grants are for energy efficient fridges and freezers. Hunger Free Dallas County was granted $10,000 and the Adair-Casey Food Pantry received $6,000 for freezers, refrigerators and shelving. The Greene County Christian Action Resource Center received $3,500 for a commercial freezer. According to the DNR, these improvements and resources will go towards keeping more food fresher longer, feeding more families and decreasing waste.
