The Jefferson City Council will meet tonight.

The Council will consider for approval an additional $6,000 of professional services with Bolton and Menk for extra observation on the Chestnut and Adams Street water main improvement project, a $13,700 proposal from Atura Architecture for engineering services for the animal shelter project, and a reimbursable agreement of $37,471 with the Federal Aviation Administration for the decommissioning and removal of the runway end identifier lights for the extension project at the airport. Additionally, the Council will consider approving the first reading of ordinances to increase water and sewer rates each by three-percent and the first reading for an ordinance to increase residential and commercial solid waste rates, as well as providing a commercial recycling fee.

The Council will also consider approving a reimbursement request for COVID-19 state relief funds, a People for Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) funding request and a settlement and payment for a claim by the City’s insurance company. Finally, the Jefferson: A Main Street and Chamber Community organization will deliver its quarterly report.

The meeting begins at 5:30pm in the City Hall Council Chambers.
