The Greene County Republican Party has been busy lately.

Following their open house for their new temporary headquarters at the former Homestead Coffee and Bakery, at 121 East Lincoln Way, in Jefferson on August 11th, they also held a Veterans for Trump event on Monday. Jefferson veteran and House Iowa District 47 Representative Phil Thompson spoke about the event.

“We’re obviously really excited about a lot of the things that our President’s done to support our veterans. We’re here to celebrate some of the victories we’ve had and also a lot of things that he’s doing for us back home too, so the VA (veteran’s affairs) Admission Act, the GI Bill for Life. Veterans benefits change a lot and we just want to make sure that veterans are educated on what’s available to them and how this administration has impacted their daily life.”

The fall fundraiser is also coming up this Friday. It will be held at the Grand Junction Community Center, with doors to open at 5:30pm, followed by a meal at 6 and the program to begin at 6:30. The keynote speakers include Governor Kim Reynolds, U.S. Congressional candidate Randy Feenstra, along Thompson and Iowa Senate District 24 candidate Jesse Green. Tickets for the event are $25 per person and can be purchased from any central committee members or at their headquarters in Jefferson.
