Perry Library

The Perry Public Library saw more than 50,000 visitors throughout the 2019-20 fiscal year.

Library Director Mary Murphy recently presented the library’s fiscal report to the City Council which shows 51,372 visitors, 10,741 program participants, and 15,428 using their public computers. These numbers are considerably lower than years past, but Murphy says she’s really happy where they’re at as the library has been closed throughout the year due to COVID-19 and their renovation project.

Last year, Murphy also boasted the library hitting all of their goals including increasing their outreach, improving cost effectiveness within their programs, and beginning a major renovation project. Council member Chuck Schott applauded Murphy’s efforts and praised the staff throughout his experiences with the library. Some of the goals for the current fiscal year includes safely reopening the library, finishing health initiatives grants, and increasing the community’s awareness of library resources.
