Friday, August 21st

10:13am: Gary Parker reported a Stray Dog running freely near West South Street and Grimmell Road. The officer placed the animal in the Animal Holding Facility.

7:05am: The Wild Rose Casino reported an Abandoned Bicycle at 777 Wild Rose Lane. The officer placed the bike in the Impound Lot.

1:25pm: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 100 Block of North Chestnut Street.

2:23pm: Loren Ellsbury requested assistance with a Welfare Check on his adult son at 504 South Walnut Street. Ellsbury had a key to the residence, but it was not working, and he could not get his son to respond. The officer assisted in gaining entry to the residence. The son was found to be fine.

2:55pm: Denny Ross reported receiving the Social Security Scam Phone Call. A recording advised his number had been suspended due to suspicious activity. Ross recognized the call as a scam and ended the call.

1:32am: Craig Hart reported a Burglary to an RV parked at 404 East Harrison Street. Unknown subject(s) had removed a tv, DVD player and a grill from the RV. The items were valued at $200.00. The officer removed some items for possible latent prints and the investigation continues.

Saturday, August 22nd

7:13am: An officer responded to an alarm activation at 1000 West Washington Street. The alarm was an error, and all was fine at the facility.

9:15am: Bill Dimig reported damage to a railroad tie wall in his alley at 507 North Wilson Ave. He believed a tree company hired by the city to clean up storm damage had struck his retaining wall while cleaning up debris in the alley.

1:46pm: Gene Dillavou spoke with an officer concerning a Civil Issue occurring at 402 North Pinet Street.

5:34pm: Officers were called to Locust and Garfield Streets for a reported Domestic Argument between a couple in the street. The caller advised the female had a baseball bat. The officer arrived and spoke to the female, who advised of a verbal argument with her boyfriend. She advised he had left, and she did not need any assistance from the officer. The officer located the male and spoke to him a few blocks away. He advised the same as the female had. No action was taken by the officer.

9:17pm: Melanie Wahl reported the odor of Natural Gas in the 200 Block of North Grimmell Road. The officer could not detect any odor in the area.

10:30pm: An officer removed a bat from the residence at 402 Sundown Court.

11:20pm: Denise Silva requested an officer at 1000 West Adams #23. She advised her adult daughter had been assaulted at another residence by a Jefferson female. The adult daughter refused to cooperate and asked the officer to leave.

Sunday, August 23rd

1:08pm: Patricia Stowell reported she had lost her Iowa Driver’s License at 777 Wild Rose Lane on August 21 st , 2020.

3:23pm: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 1400 Block of Southfield Drive.

7:39pm: An Anonymous caller advised of two dogs left outside without access to water at 810 West South Street. The owner of the animals allowed the officer to check on the animals and the officer found them to be in excellent health.

8:00pm: Krystal Dzuris requested an officer at 405 South West Street for verbal issues with a neighbor. The officer worked to diffuse the issues between neighbors and advised both the stay away from the other.

9:35pm: Jessica Wells reported the strong odor of anhydrous near Mulberry and Central Ave. The officer located a leaking tank and the Coop was contacted. An employee of the Coop stopped the tank from leaking a short time later.

11:09pm: While patrolling parks, an officer noticed Criminal Mischief at Russell Park. Someone had written on tables and signs with a permanent marker. Paint had been chipped off a wall with an unknown object. The officer had not seen anyone in the park on this evening and does not know when the crime had occurred.
