Last Wednesday, Greene County played a varsity volleyball scrimmage at St. Edmond High School in Ft. Dodge. Head coach Chris Heisterkamp gave her impressions of the outing to Raccoon Valley Radio. “I saw really good cohesiveness on the court, which is a biggie. The fact that we’ve been practicing at the elementary up to this point and it’s a very small gym without the full serving area, and our girls transitioned to a regular court and regular gym beautifully. You couldn’t even tell we’d been stuck in a small gym for two weeks.”

The coach added, “We saw some aggressive attacking, some really good setting, and amazing digs. Of course, the list includes things we have to work on, but we saw many really good, positive things.”

There has been a schedule change for Greene County varsity volleyball due to the new high school gymnasium not being ready for competition. The Rams have moved their Sept. 5 tournament back to Saturday, Oct. 3 with competition that day slated for both the new high school gym and the former middle school gym.

The Rams open the new season this Tuesday the 25th in Glidden vs. Collins-Maxwell and Glidden-Ralston.
