Adel City Officials are asking residents and business owners to conserve water as recent drought conditions have taken a toll on the City’s water supply.
Between 7 a.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. this morning, water usage spiked to 813,000 gallons, which is tied for the third-highest demand on record. Because of this, along with the recent drought conditions, the City has issued a tier-one water warning until further notice. Use of water for lawn irrigation, car washing, and filling private pools are prohibited. Failure to comply can result in fines than can reach as high as $500. Customers of the Xenia Rural Water District are not included in this Water Warning. You can find more information about the details of the warning here.
