Wild Rose Casino and Resort in Jefferson recently added a new feature to its sports betting operations.

General Manager Travis Dvorak says off-track betting allows individuals who are 21 and older to bet on dog and horse races. He points out bringing in dog and horse race betting has been a long time coming to the casino in Jefferson.

“Even before this place was even built we had a lot of people saying, ‘Are you going to get horse racing and dog racing?’ Because it’s been around in Iowa for longer than casinos. So it’s just one more thing that we can offer to people. Since we’ve offered it I’ve had groups come in and bet on the dogs and horses, and sit there in Coaches (Corner), and grab a beverage or two, and watch the races. So it’s just one more thing that we can provide to our customers.”

The off-tracking betting service is provided by the Iowa Greyhound Association from Dubuque, Iowa. The new betting feature can be found inside their Coaches Corner restaurant.
