Wednesday, August 19th

9:12am: Roxanne Tingle reported stolen checks from 403 South Cedar Street. Several checks had been forged and used. Some checks were used at local businesses. The officer is investigating.

10:50am: Fareway reported a male transient begging for money outside of 1207 North Elm Street. Officers made contact with the subject and learned he was wanted out of Story County, but due to Covid 19 they would not extradite him at this time. Officers advised him to leave the private property.

11:56am: HyVee reported the same transient male was now at their store at 106 West Washington Street begging customers for money. Officers arrived and moved him on his way.

2:28pm: Officers assisted the GC Ambulance in the 400 Block of West Madison Street with a Medical Call.

7:22pm: A Traffic Stop in the 100 Block of South Oak Street resulted in Tyler Armstrong of Jefferson being cited for, “Driving While Suspended.”

7:33pm: A Traffic Stop at Elm and 220th Streets resulted in Steven Hack of Jefferson being cited for, “Careless Driving.”

8:48pm: Kay Sayre reported a foul odor at 308 West Greenwood Road. The officer arrived and found the LP was turned on to a grill that was not lit. The officer turned off the valve.

10:30pm: Jack Grisham requested a Welfare Check on his adult sister at 202 West Adams Street. The officer made contact with the female, who advised she was fine.

Thursday, August 20th

2:40am: An officer removed a bat from the residence at 401 North Cedar Street.

5:08am: An officer removed a bat from the residence at 404 South Pinet Street.

9:16am: Sparky’s One Stop reported a vehicle had been parked for several days at 606 Hwy. 30 East without plates on it. They wanted to make sure it was stolen. The officer ran the vehicle VIN through NCIC and learned it was reported as a Stolen Motor Vehicle.

5:37pm: An officer was sent to an Alarm Activation at 300 American Drive. Before the officer arrived, the alarm company advised him to disregard as all was fine there.

5:48pm: A Traffic Stop was performed at Adams and Elm Street resulting in Samantha Peel of Jefferson being cited for, “Driving While Suspended.” Peel had an active Boone County Arrest Warrant for, “Possession of Marijuana 2 nd Offense. The officer placed her in custody for the warrant.

7:13pm: Justin Venteicher requested officers at 207 North Olive Street for a Domestic Argument occurring between himself and his wife. The officer worked to diffuse the issue and the two separated for the remainder of the evening. at 1943 hours, The officer was called back to the address as the male reported he had been physically assaulted by the female. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Brooke Renae Venteicher, 38 of Jefferson for, “Domestic Abuse Assault – Simple.”
