A Jamaica man has been sentenced to prison for a June 17th incident.

According to court documents, 40-year-old Anthony Ray Owens is convicted of possession of methamphetamine third or subsequent offense, a class D felony, and operating while intoxicated first offense, a serious misdemeanor. Owens is sentenced to serve no more than five years and 365 days for both offenses to run concurrently at the Iowa Medical and Classification Center at Oakdale, and he shall be credited for all time already served for this offense. He must pay $2,000 in fines with a 15% surcharge, and pay all Category B restitution. All other charges in connection with this case have been dismissed with those court costs to be paid by Owens. Owens pleaded guilty to the incident in which a Guthrie County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle with no license plates that Owens was operating, and a methamphetamine glass pipe was found in the vehicle.
