Tuesday, August 18th
8:45am: An officer unlocked a UPPR vehicle beside the Cedar Street Crossing. The employee had locked his keys in the vehicle.
9:37am: Mariela Torres reported a Suspicious Vehicle had been near her residence at 804 North Maple Street watching her children play outside. This had occurred the prior evening.
11:46am: Marcellous Taylor reported unknown subjects had dumped a large pile of brush at his property at Clark and North West Streets. The pile is next to the road and will be picked up by the city.
12:34pm: Dispatch received a 911 Call from near 102 Deer Run. It was determined an accidental dial by a vehicle.
1:30pm: Danielle Eastman reported she had captured the stray Mastiff that has been running freely for the past several weeks near the Cedar Street Crossing. Officers retrieved the animal from 201 East Perry Street and placed the dog in the Animal Holding Facility. This animal has created numerous calls by citizens. Officers were unable to get near the animal before it would run away.
1:43pm: Petra Dawson reported a Stray Dog in the 200 Block of North Locust Street. The officer did not locate the reported animal.
2:15pm: An officer assisted William Blanchard in a Civil Property Issue occurring at 104 East Clark Street.
4:43pm: David Carbon reported a Stray Dog in the 300 Block of North Chestnut Street. The officer located the animal, but was unable to get near it.
8:02pm: A caller requested to meet an officer at the LEC as he had caught a stray Husky. As the officer drove towards the Animal Holding Facility with the animal, the owner called and advised the animal had escaped from him earlier in the day. The animal is from Grand Junction and was returned to its owner.
