A Jefferson man’s probation has been revoked in Guthrie County for a drug conviction.
Court documents show that 29-year-old Shawn Joseph Gifford has violated the terms of his probation and his original sentence of four years in prison has been imposed for counts of possession of a controlled substance second offense and keeping a premises or vehicle for use of controlled substances, both aggravated misdemeanors; and possession of marijuana second offense and gathering where marijuana is used, both serious misdemeanors. Gifford must pay all Category I restitution, which includes fines, surcharges penalties, and victim restitution. He was found by the court to have no ability to pay Category II restitution.
Gifford pleaded guilty to the offenses last November for an August 1st, 2019 incident when he was arrested after the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a Bayard residence which found marijuana, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.
