Adel residents have shown that a virus, nor a devastating storm will deter their passion for their community.
It’s no surprise that 2020 has brought some unique circumstances, but Adel Mayor Jim Peters says it’s shown how a community like Adel can band together. “There is a community spirit in Adel. I know our fire department has done some parades, starting about three months ago. It was very uplifting to the community. Another example of how the community has pulled together is our restaurants in town. I recently spoke with our Chamber Director Deb Bengston, she understands the restaurants are doing as well as they could be and they really appreciate the support of the community.”
Peters applauds the effort of the city staff, as well as those who have been working overtime to get the City cleaned up following last week’s storm. In an effort to celebrate the community, there will be a parade to show off the new Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School mascot statue. The tiger will be on display throughout the City Tuesday evening before being brought to its new home at the high school football field. The three-vehicle parade will be making its way through Adel neighborhoods starting at 6 p.m.
