"Blue Wings" by Hilde DeBruyne
Time is running out to vote for your favorite sculpture during the fourth annual Ring Out for Art contest in Jefferson.
The Jefferson Matters: A Main Street and Chamber Community’s Tower View Team accepted sculpture submissions this spring and chose three to have on display on the south plaza of the Greene County Courthouse. However, Co-Chair Deb McGinn says one of the sculptures that was made by artist Curt Swarm was damaged from Monday’s storm and so the contest is between the other two.
McGinn says the contest would not be possible without a critical partner.
“Home State Bank (in Jefferson) has been our monetary sponsor for all of these contests. We pay the stipend of $1,000 to each chosen sculpture. And then the one who wins will receive an extra $500 from Tower View Team.”
Anyone can vote now for their favorite sculpture by liking the Tower View Team’s Facebook page. Only one vote will be accepted per account and the winning sculpture will remain on display until next year. Voting ends August 29th. Click the link below to vote.
