The City of Adel is no longer under a boil water advisory.

Tuesday afternoon there was a loss of pressure in the City’s water system. Due to possible contamination, an advisory was issued asking residents to boil all water before consumption. After pressure was restored, the City sent water samples to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources to ensure the water was clean enough to consume. The City advises there may be air in your water piping and the water may be discolored. It is recommended to run the first water from a faucet that does not have an aerator screen, such as a bathtub.
