One thing that Head Coach, Scott Heitland knows he can count on with his 2020 Dallas Center-Grimes Football team is his offense. The Mustangs are a preseason top-5 ranked team in Class 3A this season, and experience is a leading reason.
Offensively, the Mustangs bring back Senior Quarterback, Ty Walker, who started 10 games in his Junior campaign, and helping DC-G snag 8 of their 9 season wins with him under center. Second strong, Junior Quarterback, Huston Halverson started once last season, as well. Halverson lead the Mustangs to a big road win, at, then ranked, Glenwood.
Mustang leading rusher, Zach Brand is also in the backfield this season. A year ago, Brand rushed for 6 touchdowns, and averaged 5.4 yards per carry.
Receivers Caden Grimes, Luke Busby, and Owen Curtis are all back for the Mustang offense this season, as well. Grimes snagged 4 TD passes last year, Busby had 2, and Curtis had 1. Busby also carried the ball for 4 touchdowns, as well.
DC-G Football opens the season in Grimes versus Pella on Friday, August 28.
